Today, we’ve launched a
/locations v0.1 feature as a component of both digital twins and assets.
For a digital twin to make a useful recommendation, it needs to know where you are, and what’s in your vicinity. By adding location data to twins and assets, we hope to be able to facilitate experiences and activities with twins and assets that are nearby.
Using The Locations Feature
The v0.1 release of /locations enables you to specify a location for each twin or asset simply as an attribute attached to the intended object. This attribute takes two values - latitude and longitude, that it can then share with whoever queries the twin or the asset.
By querying the public locations endpoint, you receive back a list of all the twins and or assets that have their location set to public. You can filter this list down by geographic location (so you can search for all public twins and assets in a particular location), or assets owned by a particular twin in a particular location or even query where your trusted twins are.
We hope you find the feature useful, and we’d love to hear how you’d like to use this feature or how you see this feature progressing. You can reach out directly to the platform team, and we’d love to hear your thoughts and idea.
In the meantime, go check out the technical documentation and start playing around with the feature.
