Fetch.ai and Internet Computer (ICP), have today announced a NextGen Agents Hackathon, an AI agent-focused hackathon launching on 1st August 2025. It marks the first Indonesian hackathon from Fetch.ai's Innovation Lab in partnership with ICP Hubs Network that challenges developers to build autonomous AI agents using Fetch.ai's ecosystem and connecting them to the Internet Computer's decentralized blockchain infrastructure. The competition represents the first major hackathon integrating Fetch.ai's autonomous agent ecosystem with fully on-chain deployment, offering winners direct advancement to the World Computer Hacker League (WCHL) 2025 and access to its $300K prize pool.
The hackathon addresses a critical frontier in Web3 development: deploying Fetch.ai's intelligent autonomous agents that operate entirely on-chain without traditional cloud dependencies. Participants will leverage Fetch.ai's uAgent framework to develop autonomous agents and deploy them on Agentverse. These agents will be integrated with the Internet Computer's "canister" smart contracts to create AI-powered applications that run autonomously on its decentralized infrastructure.
"This hackathon is a launchpad for the next wave of decentralized intelligence," said Sana Wajid, Chief Development Officer at Fetch.ai and SVP of Fetch.ai Innovation Lab. "By combining the global reach and decentralized infrastructure of the Internet Computer with Fetch.ai's agentic ecosystem, we're empowering developers to build autonomous AI Agents. Our mission is to accelerate real-world adoption of intelligent agents, and this collaboration brings us closer to a future where Web3 systems can think, act, and evolve independently".
The competition challenges developers to build autonomous AI agents using Fetch.ai's technology stack and seamlessly connect them to the Internet Computer ecosystem. Participants will deploy their agents on Agentverse, Fetch.ai's open agent marketplace, and interact with them through ASI:One, Fetch.ai's proprietary agentic LLM.
Developers will be able to utilize Fetch.ai's uAgent framework to build their application and advance in the competition. Winners and top-performing teams from this hackathon will earn a spot in the Regional Round of the World Computer Hacker League (WCHL), where participants compete across five tracks: AI, Bitcoin DeFi, Real-World Assets (RWA), Fully On-Chain, and an Open Track.
All teams will receive hands-on mentorship from engineers at Fetch.ai and ICP, focusing on best practices for intelligent agent development, on-chain integration, and real-world Web3 deployments.
Registrations open August 1st 2025 through August 23rd, targeting developers worldwide interested in building with Fetch.ai's autonomous agent technology on decentralized infrastructure powered by the Internet Computer (ICP). The submission window runs from August 13th to August 23rd, 2025. Projects will be evaluated based on disruptive use of Fetch.ai's tools, integration with ICP, technical execution, and potential for real-world use.

About Internet Computer
The Internet Computer (ICP) represents a fully decentralized Web3 cloud platform, enabling developers to deploy code directly onto the blockchain without relying on servers or centralized infrastructure. This fast, cost-efficient, and highly scalable protocol redefines the operational paradigm of a decentralized web3 platform. ICP offers the same functionalities as centralized clouds but with economically efficient computation, heightened security, and rapid processing speeds intrinsic to decentralized technology.
