Fetch.AI joins the Railway Industry Association to further partnerships in the industry

Fetch.AI has joined the Railway Industry Association (RIA), an industry body representing the interests of more than 230 suppliers to the UK’s rail industry. The move is designed to further strengthen Fetch.AI’s relationships with the rail industry as it explores the potential of Autonomous Economic Agents to optimise complex systems within the UK’s rail network.

RIA is involved in a broad range of activities including the development of technical strategies, standards and innovation programmes for the UK’s railways. In addition, RIA represents the interests of its members to Network Rail, the owner and manager of the UK’s rail infrastructure that commissions technical innovation to improve how that infrastructure is managed, amongst other tasks.

Fetch.AI representatives will join the RIA’s special technical interest groups and participate at the RIA’s two technical and innovation networking events. The objective is to build relationships that explore the application of the Fetch.AI Smart Ledger and Autonomous Economic Agents to various areas of the UK’s rail infrastructure.

Richard Jones, Technical & Innovation Manager at the Railway Industry Association commented: “Our members work together to deliver many of the technical enhancements for the UK’s rail infrastructure in partnership with Network Rail as well as rolling stock for the OEMs. We are delighted to welcome a truly innovative organisation like Fetch to RIA. As we roll out Digitalisation in the industry, new sources of data and ways of analysing it hold tremendous promise for improving safety and increasing efficiency across the UK rail network.”

Humayun Sheikh, CEO at Fetch.AI added: “Improving the utilisation of assets and efficiency within the transport system is a major objective for Fetch. Being able to manage huge complexity from the bottom-up with Fetch agents representing different sensors, machines and data promises to make coordination of rail networks far more seamless. We’re looking forward to collaborating with Network Rail and RIA members to further explore this potential.”

RIA also provides a voice for its members with UK government engagement activity as well as helping to promote its members products and services with railways in other markets.
